Every other week a small group of us travels to “KLAB” in Luckenwalde. This is a youth club of the “Falken”, which is primarily – but not exclusively – visited by kids, teenagers and grown-ups with a refugee background. We meet there at around 18 o’clock with girls* and women* who want to spend an evening together in the absence of men*. We especially want to appeal to women*, who are isolated from social contacts through state harassment, their living situation as well as the division of responsibilities within their household. We hope to offer these women* a place free from interference, where they can exchange experiences with and get to talk to other women*, as well as network amongst each other. The goal is to create a safe-space wherein everybody feels at ease.
During these evenings there are many opportunities to get to talk to one another and, of course, to expand ones vocabulary (be it German, Arabic, Kurdish, Farsi or so many other languages). We often go shopping, to then cook lovely meals together. Sometimes there is dancing and we always play: There is tabletop soccer, a billiard table, a beach volleyball field and much more. In a nutshell, we whish to enjoy pleasant and empowering evenings together, as well as learn from each other.
We are always delighted to see new faces! If you are interested, or have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us via e-mail: info[at]pangea-projekt.de
Note: With women*/girls*/men* we mean to appeal to whomever feels addressed by the abstract concept behind the term.
